Christmas Song: the First Noel

Non ci pensate magari, ma tutti abbiamo avuto un “primo Natale” nella vita e allora questa canzone a tema che abbiamo selezionato ha un doppio significato e può non riferirsi soltanto alla nascita di Gesù Bambino. L’arrivo di un neonato, del resto, divino o umano, è sempre un evento che ha del miracoloso e se questo coincide con il 25 dicembre simbolo di rinnovamento spirituale è più facile sentirsi carichi di buoni propositi e di gioia nell’animo. Abbiamo ancora un’ultima festa natalizia che è domani l’Epifania, poi tutto tornerà come prima e ripartirà la corsa verso il prossimo anno e verso i nuovi regali di Santa Claus.

The first Noel the angels did say

Was to certain poor shepherds in fields as they lay;

Full reverently, upon bended knee,

And offered there, in His presence,

Their gold and myrrh and frankincense.

If we in our time do well

We shall be free from death and hell

For God hath prepared for us all

A resting place in general.
