Avvento


L’avvento è il tempo liturgico di quattro settimane che precede il Natale tempo che secondo la religione cristiana è preparatorio alla natività.

I nomi tradizionali delle domeniche di avvento sono tratti dalle prime parole dell’introito.

  1. domenica d’avvento: Ad Te levavi (Ad te levavi animam meam = a te levo l’anima mia)
  2. domenica d’avvento: Populus Sion (Populus Sion, ecce Dominus veniet ad salvandas gentes )
  3. domenica d’avvento: Gaudete (Gaudete in Domino semper = Rallegratevi nel Signore sempre)
  4. domenica d’avvento: Rorate (Rorate, coeli desuper, et nubes pluant iustum ).


Una delle tradizioni legate a questo periodo è sicuramente la corona dell’Avvento.La corona è formata da rami di pino o abete decorati a mano.Alle estremità della corona vengono posizionate quattro candele simboleggianti appunto le quattro domeniche che mancano per il Santo Natale.
